Properly equipped, a trickster based critical build will do about 8 times more damage per attack compared to a baseline character (a "regular" critical build only has about 4 times more damage). Class Features are generally passive benefits that characters gain based on their Class but can also sometimes be active Skills that you can use in combat. It's also top notch mechanically as of this patch that gave it a shit ton more stuff - more than doubling the number of gaze options, and letting you pick a gaze at every rank instead of every 2 ranks. You're still limited to 1/2/3 active at a time at ranks 3/6/10 though. Another neat one to consider is Swarm that Walks. I played a Witch of the Veil merc in my first playtrough, wasn't much impressed. Then I got Toybox and started a save with 5 mercs and 2 class gestalt. One of them is a Transmuter Arcanist/Witch of the veil. Trickster based critical builds are one of the strongest archetypes in this game that most people don't think about. Properly equipped, a trickster based critical build will do about 8 times more damage per attack compared to a baseline character (a "regular" critical build only has about 4 times more damage). Lich is best as a sorcerer/dd/monk gish though. Angel is best with oracle by a long shot. You want spontaneous casters for the merged list ideally since it adds a ton of spells which covers your main weakness. And since lich/angel have the best spells for blasting you can focus on taking utility spells from your class without falling behind. This is because, unlike Kingmaker where you had Amiri from the get go, in WotR you have no access to a high damage output melee companion for about seven levels or well into Act 2.
